Overview

If you are not successful in gaining admission to the university, but have an AP of 20 points and adhere to the Minimum Admission Requirements, you may follow a University Preparation Programme (UPP) to obtain access. The programme provides prospective students an opportunity to enjoy studies at higher education institutions after successful completion of a bridging year.

The UPP also addresses, through a course in Skills and Competencies in Lifelong Learning, the student’s wider needs with regard to quality of personal life, study and reading skills, self-assertiveness, problem solving, and other generic competencies.

You also attend an academic literacy course in English to improve your reading and writing skills for higher education purposes.

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS:

A National Senior Certificate (NSC) and an AP of 20-24
Four subjects on level 3 (40%-49%)
Language of instruction on Level 3 (40%) (English or Afrikaans

Economic and Management Sciences:

B.com: Mathematics on Level 3 (40%) or Higher
B.Admin: Mathematics is not a requirement

Natural and Agricultural Sciences:

Mathematics on Level 3 (40%) or higher
Life Sciences on Level 3 (40%) or higher
Physical Sciences on Level 3 (40%) or higher

BAgri:

Mathematics on Level 2 (30%) or higher
Mathematical Literacy on Level 5 (60%) or higher
